AIDUL MILAD MAMA

Am waiting for Kak Umi and her husband, and their cute little lad, Huzaifah Aiman. It is Sunday, and they are going to give me and Dila(my housemate) a lift to Blaydon Carboot sale. This is going to be my 2nd time going to carboot.

Today is my mom's birthday, and I haven't yet give her a call. Don't think she'll be at home at this time. Well, have to remember of deducting less hour to call Malaysia from today coz the Europian summer time has begun, so now the time here will be 7 hours later than that in Malaysia, instead of 8 hours.

I won't say anything about gifts or wutsoever I am sending to my mom, briefly coz I am not sending her anything. Yes, that's rite. I remember one controversial issue arose when I was in college about ringing ur mum during the mother's day (tapi x ingat apesal laa kontroversi sangat). For me, it depends on how your mum expect you to do something on days that they regard as special. Say your mum would be heartbroken if you do not give them gift, then it would be better to do what she prefers, rite? But some mothers do not bother that much about their children getting them gifts, a call would be enough, and perhaps some mothers do not even realise the existence of those special days (only one that I can relate here, actually - mother's day). Ask yourselves and you will get the answer. I mean, we know our own mother don't we? I hav a friend whose siblings (including her) always give their mother presents or cards (at least) during the mother's day, so it will be kinda weird if they stop doing that. Who knows how her mum is gonna react if she or one of her siblings does not give her present. The most important point here is to be nice to our mum, to please them. As for me, sometimes I just happened to bought my mum things, and I got this sentence from her "dakyoh laa susoh2 beli barang....mahal pulok tuh. Perabih duit je". Alaa...kalo xabeskan duit beli barang untuk mak, habis jugak duit tuh beli benda merepek2, ye dak? (so baik beli sumthing utk mak). Although she said that, I could see the sense of being appreciated in her face when we(me or my sis) gave her presents, no matter how kodi they are...

Hehe...just back from carboot. Tadi stop kejap sebab Kak Umi dah sampai. Now I have no idea what I was getting to before. I have also just called my beloved mama, and we spent more time talking about some news back in Malaysia and my trip to Paris in the next 2 days. And as usual, she asked me about my studies. I always expect that everytime I call her =). Talking about mothers... they are so special. Islam pon dah naikkan martabat wanita yang bergelar ibu. "Syurga itu di bawah telapak kaki ibu".

Penat mak kita mengandungkan kita, pastuh mase baby asyik nangis sampai laa besar suke merengek nak itu, nak ini, tapi mak jage jugak dengan penuh kasih sayang. Kalo mak tak bagi kita buat ape2 sebab die sayang kat kita, kita cakap mak tak sayang pulak. Hantar sekolah, masak nasi, beri makan, semue mak yang buat...susahnye anak nak tolong mak. Kadang2 mak mintak tolong buat keje sket pon merengek. Isk3...astaghfirullahal'azim, mudah2 an kita elakkan laa mende2 camnih. Tak cukup tuh, bile dah besar, nanti nak kahwin, manelaa tau mak tak berkenan calon isteri yang dibawak balik rumah, tapi nak bagi chance kat anak, jumpe dulu. Tengok baik ke tak. Bukan ape, takut nanti tak pandai jalankan tanggungjawab sebagai isteri solehah. Kalo before kahwin suh pakai tudung, cakap nak pakai lepas kahwin. Sebenarnya, bukannya pandang hina sangat kalo x pakai tudung nih, tapi itukan suruhan Allah. Lagi satu bukannye tau mati lepas kahwin ke before. Bimbang jugak lepas kahwin nanti degil plak, takpasal2 anak die plak kene tanggung dosa si isteri. Isk3...kene fikir lagi, nak bagi ke taknak. Ari tuh sibuk tanye bile anak nak kahwin, skang anak dah bawa balik calon, tak kenan la plak. Nanti tak bagi kahwin, kot2 laa lagi memudaratkan. Berdoa je laa mudah2an tuhan tunjukkan jalan yang terbaik. Sebab Allah Maha Mengetahui mana yang terbaik untuk hamba-Nya.

Huhu...tibe2 buat karangan plak. Takde keje. Tapi tulaa...pengajarannya: Marilah kita same2 sedar setiap saat betapa sayangnya mak kita kat kita. Nak balas jasa derg memang tak mampu, sekurang2nya janganla bebankan derg lagi (alamak, lepas nih, nak mintak beli laptop...camne nih? Cukuplaa masuk labour room takpon, tengok dalam tv je of a mother giving birth to her baby...MasyaAllah, besarnye pengorbanan mak. Teringat satu kisah (tak ingat zaman mane), yang ade sorang budak mendukung bapak die. Lepas tuh ade orang tanye kenapa dukung bapak die. Budak tuh cakap sebab mase kecik, die sakit, bapak die gendong die cari ubat. Ke camne ntah...lebey kurang arr... Tapi budak tuh cakap jugak, walaupon buat same cam ape yang bapak die buat, die still tak buleh balas jase bapak die, sebab kalo bapak die dulu sure harap die slalu sihat, tapi dalam hati si anak mesti ade rase terbeban dengan kehadiran ayah yang sakit uzur dan perlukan bantuan. Mehlaa kite same2 sedar pasni.

Actually, tengah nervous nak pegi Paris lusa. Better get ready, packing up things, and make sure all tickets and important documents and wutsoever tak tertinggal. Bus to london will be at 6.15 a.m. (hhuuhu, awalnye) on Tuesday. Adrenaline is rushing through my nerves... Can't wait to see my good frens and spend the holidays with em. Hopefully, everything will be fine. Hopefully, everything will turn out as wut we planned. Ameen...

MISSING MEANS TWO

Had a chat with a junior from my secondary school a few nights ago (though I never met him before). SMKARA...now in history. One, coz I am not there anymore. Two, coz the new name is SMKAKA. No more KARA. MISS my frens, dormates, classmates, teachers, and the school itself... I have had an enjoyable and fun time there.

Rite now reflecting those times when I was in SMKARA... Why didn't I use it wisely to learn more about Islam? About history? Having been in a SMKA ie islamic school should have given me the most valuable things to learn: ISLAM - if only I have grabbed all those oppurtunities, but sad to say, I don't think I did. All I did was studying, answering ppl questions, sitting for some 'duniawi' tests, dipping myself with quizzes, having fun with my frens (or more particular 'geng'), enjoying trips to there and there, boycotting the canteen - although I can't help getting me goreng pisang yang sedap bangat tuh especially kalo tambah sos, and nasi lemak was irresistable as well (wut an unforgettable memory ever) and...etc. I am not regretting those times, it was fun...but wouldn't it be more nice if I concentrate more on my islamic knowledge, not only based on the syllabus, but based on wut we as muslims should know.

If only I could repeat all those times...but the fact is I can't. All I have now is my present life which I have to move on with, and my future, yet to be determined. And for reminder, especially to me myself, we are all here for one reason. Check the holy Quran [51;56]

I created the jinn and humankind only that they might worship Me

A bit of quote from my fren's blog which is very meaningful: "Apa pun kita usaha, segala ape yg berlaku atas kita dah ditentukan Allah. Kita berusaha sedaya upaya hanya kerana ingin melakukan ibadah yg terbaik dalam ibadah kita. Tanpa mengharapkan apa2 dr usaha yg kita lakukan. Itulah ibadah yg sebenar2nya.." (from wan aisyah wan muda <--kene tulis satgi jadi plagiarism plak, hehe).

So why not we do everything lillahita'ala...whoever we are, where ever we go, and wutever we do... at least all things we do will be regarded as ibadah, selagi tak langgar hukum syarak. Wallahualam.

HAPPY.HAPPY.HAPPY.

Why?

1. Submitted my assignment 3: literature search and critical appraisal.

I have NO idea what I submitted in, but at least it's gone! I actually tried to complete it before wednesday at 5 coz my housemate gave me a ticket to International Night at Northumbria University (though they didn't even check the ticket). Then the next day (which was yesterday), didn't have 9 o'clock lecture, but went quite early, just to print out everything and submit it a.s.a.p. BUT I only realised I didn't bring the disclaimer and front page of the assignment after I finished printing all of them out!!! And that was about 10 minutes before my DR session- too late to ask Ija to bring it from home. So after DR went back home, get the sheets, went back to school, and stapled them together and finally...there I was, at Porter's Lodge with 3 copies of assignment 3, putting them all into the box...relieved!!!!!! No more assignment 3 =) Hope it turns out ok.

2. Had a social dinner with my groupmates last night. It was great =)

Had it at Scalini's (an Italian restaurant) from 6 to 10(for me n Lara - most of them went to a bar afterwards and only went back at half one!-->which of coz no need to mention why don't I join em). I turned up a bit later by the way, coz maghrib started at 6.15 pm yesterday, so prayed first at the muslim welfare house, then went there, firstly based on Oniye's map, then kinda lost, but Lara's map kept me on the right track. Good teamwork there. Claire n Lara ordered me a vege pizza. It was so large - but food n me?? Irresistable! Can't believe I ate it on my own, alone... except I didn't finish half of it's (kinda) crispy edge. I wanted to finish it. I knew I still have some space in my lesser sac, but I felt so tired chewing it, plus I was so sick to be sitting in front of the computer continuously for quite a few days b4(for the assignment of course), not to mention , as wut I just told, I went back home just for the sake of getting those sheets (it was about 40minutes to n from).

I was so tired, if they didn't make this plan, I would have probably been sleeping on my purple bed, covered by me duvey, with the electric underblanket keeping me warm.... that would be nice but I can always do that later (like, after I finish updating my blog, probably =P), and I kinda like the idea too - it did make me feel the sense of belonging though I didn't really go around and talk with all of them... I wish I had the chance, and can't describe how I wish my English is much much better (itulaa dulu xnak blaja betul2, malas membace, huhu...and again, probably beyond my confidence level<---sure Mr Zaidi marah lagi). I know it will always be my fault, my weakness if i don't get over it. But hopefully time will erase all that. (and that's why I'm writing in English - forgive me if i am grammatically wrong, and perhaps u guys shud correct me coz that's the rite way of learning isn't it?) Well, at least I ended up with a great conversation with Claire and Lara after most of them went to a bar nearby. Cheers guys, I was so relieved talking to u guys. And thanx for being so helpful. I was so glad, and I still am. It feels so good to know other people would like to help you. And most of all, thanks to the Almighty God to have grouped me with all these great people and open their heart, hope it will turn out ok sooner. Group 11 rawks!! Eheh, lame tak dengar perkataan tuh. 3. It's holidays!!! Can hardly wait to meet Aisyah, Asma' n Hajar, and be a crazy us again. And of coz looking forward going to Paris with them. Well, save that for another entry.

4. I had a yogurt ...nyummy..nyummy...(summer biopot: mango, papaya & passion fruit - trust me, i don't get any money to promote this) and now I am eating an apple!! No...not food again!! (but at least I eat healthy food, do i?) By the way did I mention I eat vege now??Did I?? A thing to be proud of ;D

5. Malaysian night was great. Thought not much people coming, but amazingly, all tickets were sold out, and some people still came to buy the ticket at the door. I feel sorry for them, I wish they could join it. If only the place was much bigger.... Anyway, the best part is (not really the best part, coz it's kind of controversial) I happened to be the grand prize lucky draw winner!! Yup! Won a trip to Europe with Kelana Convoy. It's worth £429. Wow! xpenah2 dapat lucky draw, and suddenly... almost equivalent to RM 3000!

Wassalam.

ANOTHER ENTRY

Salam,

Am spending some times in front of the computer, doing nothing particular to be described as 'work'. Just browsing friendster bulletin board. It has been a long time since I logged in to friendster.

So found this - what I think as a valuable article to be shared with - posted by a friend of mine; check it out:

(diedit dari majalah Milenia Muslim terbitan YADIM - Yayasan Dakwah Islam Malaysia) Februari 2005) Wallahuta'ala a'lam bissawab Wassalamu'alaikum wr wb ummimq

And here is another one:

Seorang lelaki berjalan mundar-mandir di lorong hospital, gelisah akan keadaan isterinya yang akan melahirkan anak sulung mereka. Setelah beberapa jam ia menunggu, tak jua terdengar tangisan bayi.

Tiba-tiba,seorang doktor berjalan tergopoh-gopoh keluar dari ruang persalinan menuju kearahnya. "Bagaimana keadaannya doktor?" tanyanya penuh harap. "Maaf encik, kami sudah berusaha, keadaannya amat kritikal. Si ibu sudah tak sedarkan diri! " jawab doktor itu. "Jadi bagaimana doktor ...?"

7. Dan banyak lagi.....

Hmm...camtuh ek, memang bg kristian lagi penting selamatkan baby ke?? Interesting question to ask a groupmate, anyway. tp kene laa prepare kalo derg tanye balik pasal kite plak. Another iktibar from the latter article was not to be syirik. Probably we think the doc can decide who's going to be saved, but the truth is....it's all in god's hand.

A lil more news about me:
1. I'm not homeless anymore. Probably will move to 196 Dilston Road (a.k.a. rumah Poknik skang nih). InsyaAllah esok sign contract. Tapi nak balik Mesia jugak. Rumah kat KT lagi bes *sob sob*

2. I've got a copy of my result from my personal tutor, so can send it straight away to JPA ---ehe, trying to be a good student here =P

Until now, take care. Wassalam.

Guess that's all. Wassalam.

MUHASABAH DIRI LAGI: The Night They Raided Zouks

Lame tak bace news. Tadi dapat tahu pasal ni (thanx to this sister who told me this), mebbe ramai dah tahu kot. So macam biase, cut and paste:

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 12 (IPS) - One Saturday night recently, Sarinah Majid, a 23-year-old accountant, was dancing the night away with her Chinese boyfriend at Zouks nightclub -- the most happening night spot in Malaysia's capital city.

Then suddenly the world, as she knew it, collapsed dramatically around her.''The music suddenly stopped, the lights came on and dozens of uniformed and plainclothes Islamic police were crowding the dance floor, shouting, gesticulating and ordering,'' said Sarinah using a pseudonym to avoid legal complications.

''What happened that night in January was humiliating, inhuman and thoroughly disgusting ... I felt ashamed to be a Muslim,'' Sarinah told IPS, relating to the shame and agony she and about 100 other Muslim youths suffered that night.Police from the Federal Territory's Islamic Department separated Muslims from non-Muslims.

While non-Muslims were told to party on, Muslims were herded into trucks and taken to the department's head office where the particulars of the youths were taken. They were held overnight and released the next day. They were then ordered to return for counseling sessions with Islamic clerics to learn the ''true'' Islam. Some will be prosecuted under 'syariah' laws for ''indecent behaviour.''

''They leered, jeered and ogled at us, took photographs of us and thoroughly humiliated us ... one of us even urinated in her pants out of shock and fright,'' Sarinah said.

''That night I became a criminal ... the Islamic police told me I had committed heinous sins forbidden by Islam,'' said Sarinah who studied at top schools here and in Australia.

''I have to appear before a 'syariah' court next month and be charged for indecent behaviour and punished accordingly.''

''I don't know what crime I had committed,'' she said spitting out the words with bitterness.

''I feel helpless and completely violated.''

Many moderate Muslims in the country are showing the same shock and anger felt by Sarinah. The incident has sparked a fiery debate focusing on morality and compulsion in Islam and the clash between a secular constitution that guarantees fundamental rights and freedom of choice and Islamic syariah laws that prescribes what a Muslim can wear and cannot and who he or she keeps company and where.

The raid at Zouks has shaken moderate Muslims and their fear and anger is palpable. Moderate Muslims had felt comfortable and safe with the election of Prime Minister Abdullah Badawi and the elevation of his Islam 'hadhari' or moderate Islam to official status. They had felt that the fundamentalist wave that had gripped the country with the ascendancy of the opposition Parti Islam se Malaysia of PAS was defeated and over.

''We were naïve to think fundamentalism was done away with when PAS was defeated at the polls last year and Abdullah announced his Islam 'hadhari','' said a prominent Muslim political analyst who declined to be named for fear of persecution by fundamentalist opponents.

Last March, Abdullah in his first election since taking over as prime minister swept through parliament with his coalition winning 198 out of the 219 parliamentary seats. The opposition only secured 20 seats with PAS seeing its number of seats decline from 27 in 1999 to just seven.

''Fundamentalism and intolerance runs very deep in Malay Muslim society,'' he told IPS.''It is everywhere in the schools, academia, media, politics and everyday life.''

''Muslims have few choices...our life is regulated and regimented,'' he said.

The constitution guarantees fundamental freedom for all citizens including Muslims. Nonetheless, Muslims are further governed by 'syariah' laws which each of the country's 13 states have enacted in the last decade. Within the capital, the applicable law is the Syariah Criminal Offences (Federal Territories) Act 1997. Section 19(1) prohibits Muslims from imbibing any intoxicating drink and Section 19(2) refers generally to the area of selling alcohol. Section 29 is the catchall killer that states ''any person who, contrary to Islamic Law, acts or behaves in an indecent manner in any public place shall be guilty of an offence.'' Under this vague section, Muslims are regularly arrested for ''indecent'' attire or behaviour like holding hands with someone from the opposite sex that is common among non-Muslims. Muslims charged under Section 29 usually plead guilty and quietly pay a fine usually under 1,000 ringgit (263 U.S. dollars). But this time the raid was on a top nightclub frequented by Muslim youths from influential upper class families with connections to powerful politicians. It is the cream of Malay society that was belittled and humiliated by the Islamic police. This law however does not specify what constitutes ''indecency''.

The question now is, is it an act of indecency to wear tight jeans or tank tops or dance at a nightclub where alcohol is served?

Human rights activist Elizabeth Wong points out that there is nothing in 'syariah' law that says a Muslim can't be in a club, cafe, bar, restaurant or venue that serves alcohol.

''There is nothing that says one can't dance or listen to very loud mind-numbing music,'' said Wong, a lawyer and director of HAKAM, a human rights organisation.

''The mere presence of Muslims in the nightclub does not constitute a criminal offence,'' she told IPS.''What constitutes indecent behaviour is also highly subjective.''

''The problem is not whether the religious authorities did their job in accordance with procedure. It's the existence of such laws that 'govern' moral behavior which violates fundamental liberties,'' she said.''These laws should never exist in the first place.''

Ape pandangan korang?

Hmm...teringat bulan lepas (rasenye laa) pasal Prince Henry pakai baju tentera nazi pegi "costume party". Kalo ikutkan dah name pon costume party, suke ati die laa kan nak pakai ape. Tapi betape yahudi pandang serius kat kes tuh (kalo tengok nampak cam kecik je hal tuh), siap suh minta maaf depan public lagi, xkire pangkat- kaye ke, miskin ke, tue ke, mude ke, tername ke, org kebanyakan ke.... and tak kire sekecik mane pon hal tuh.... Semangat tak diorg memperjuangkan kaum diorg?

Kite yang Islam nih camne? Agak2nye berani ke nak tentang orang berpangkat buat salah? Kawan sendiri pon tak berani nak tegur kadang2 tuh. Tambah lagi, kalo tengok news tadi tuh, terbalik pulak yang dipertahankan.

Moga2 kite dapat fikir dengan sebaik2nya. Wallahualam

LONG TIME NO UPDATE

Lame tak update. Banyak mende nak cakap. Tapi pendek2 je laa.

1. Easter holiday. Tak habis2 lagi bincang pasal nak pegi sane. Accommodation pon tak confirm lagi. To Asma', Aisyah n Hajar: bile nak berdiskusi nih?

2. Rumah. Me, Ija n Dila are becoming homeless people now. Huhu. Rumah nih (41 Brighton Grove) dah ade orang datang tengok, and yet, we haven't decided where to move out for next year. Ade jek rumah available tapi.... banyak pulak alasannye. Malas nak menaip pasal tuh.

3. I lost £20. Huhu... aku yakin gile aku letak skali ngan duit umah for this month. letak £170 sebab budget nak bayar current skali. Mase tuan umah datang amik duit aku tengah masak kat dapur, malas nak naik bilik pegi amik duit. So suh Ija amikkan. Ija pon nak rush sebab nak pass kat Aisyah yang tengah on the way nak turun bayar duit tuh, so die xkirekan dulu. Hmm...so agak2 ke mane ye duit tuh?? Yakin sungguh letak skali ngan duit umah....takpelaa bukan rezeki laa tuh. Tanye tuan umah, die ckp xde. Wallahualam. Memang bukan rezeki. Pengajaran: lenkali pegi amik sendiri duit tuh n jangan campur duit electric ngan umah. Huhu... 20 x 7 = RM140.

4. Bought a new mobile (finally!!) from Nini. She upgraded her contract but she doesn't want the phone, so sold it to me. Quite a good deal for a brand new samsung d500. So skang pakai prepaid 02 yang ade 300 free texts tuh. Cheaper than if I sign a pay monthly contract, but obviously, with a less calltime (but extra texts!!) - which I think is a reasonable decision to make. Sape pon yang aku nak call, by the way? But I still like nokia 6230, more functions...tapi xpelaa, try boikot sket. Huhuu...tapi nnt pegi paris, dah merancang nak gi Disneyland...camne tuh?

By the way, my new mobile no:

FINDING ME?

Assalamualaikum, good day to all

Actually taktau pon nak tulis ape. Cume rase cam nak menaip or jot down anything. Tapi, nak taip ape aa?

Skang kat rumah Kak Jua. Lagi2 menyibuk ngan Kak Jua. Hehe...tengah khusyuk die duk bace buku tuh...sure xsedar aku duk menaip blog, cakap pasal die plak tuh. (Jangan marah Kak Jua). Background reading katenye...but, genetics?? No way... I wonder when will I understand how those genius people found out about all the experiment and procedure of getting the... I don't even know wut do I call it. hmmm...probably genetic printing, dna, amplification...or wutsoever...haha..ye ke? xde kene mengene pon. Toing2..tabik spring aa kat Kak Jua =)

Nak citer pasal ape aa...mule laa nak merepek nih. Hmm..rase nak taip sumthing, tapi xtau nak taip ape( god, how many times have I mentioned that??) Ade jek nih, tapi die xnak kuar. Pelik laa... Aku pon tak paham. Kadang2 memang susah nak paham diri sendiri. Ni kan nak paham orang lain jugak, ye dak? Relevant plak rasenye gune title finding me tuh...

Daripada merepek marilah buat renungan kejap.

Tsunami. There are loads of tsunami pics (can go to kak azila's blog, here)which occured recently on the 26th December 2004, a day after christmas celebration, the day those people believing that Jesus is the son of god celebrate his birthday - annually. Memang Nabi Isa dilahirkan, tapi oleh Maryam (Virign Mary), and he's only the messenger of Allah, bukannye sebagai 'anak tuhan'.

Let's check out the holy Quran. Surah 19: Maryam; verse 88-95.

88. They say: "(Allah) Most Gracious Has begotten a son!"
89. Indeed ye have put forth a thing most monstrous!
90. As if the skies are ready to burst, the earth to split asunder, and the mountains to fall down in utter ruin.
91. That they should invoke a son for (Allah) Most Gracious.
92. For it is not consonant with the majesty of (Allah) Most Gracious that He should beget a son.
93. Not one of the beings in the heavens and the earth but most come to (Allah) Most Gracious as a servant.
94. He does take an account of them (all), and hath numbered them (all).
95. And every one of them will come to him singly on the day of Judgement.

saje jek tulis dlm english, kot2 laa ade org2 yg berkenaan bace, buleh gak derg pikir. Since aku nih x terer sangat english, letak lam bm jugak. hehe.

Hmm...terfikir, sbb ape tsunami tuh happened on the 26th, boleh ke kaitkan surah maryam tadi tuh... and mungkin sebagai reminder utk kite semue. Wallahualam. Seungguhnya Dia lah yang maha mengetahui segala2nya. Kadang2 tengok gamba tuh, kejap jek sedar. Mase tengok gamba tuh 'Ya Allah...Ya Allah...takutnye'.(Aku la tu...huhu) tapi, takut betulkah kite? dah amal ma'ruf nahi munkar kah kite? ke amal ma'ruf tapi tak nahi munkar pon? atau pon due2 pon x?? Nauzubillah...Ya Allah bantulah hamba mu yang hina, lemah, dan tak berdaya langsung menghadapi dugaan2mu...tapi tetap lupe padaMu selalu terlupe mengingatiMu. Padahal Dielaa yang dah memberi rezeki kat kite. Kadang2 bile nak exam, hilang kejap bende berat kat kepala, mungkin Die nak beri peluang belaja, biar masuk kepale, itu laa jugak salah satu rezeki selain drp mende2 yang nampak eg makan minum, parents, kawan2, pass exam, dapat masuk uni kat uk wlaupon asalnye xdapat offer langsung; dan xnampak spt kesihatan, ketenangan, kehappyan, mase, tenage...tapi selalu ke kite ingat nak bersyukur??Mehlaa kite muhasabah balik diri kite.

Hhuhu...banyak plak cakap. Like I am GOOD enuff to talk about this thing. well, at least that's wut i always said to myself. boleh ke cakap camtuh? Tapi sampai bile? like a sister said to me, SAPE KITE NAK TENTUKAN KITE NI LAYAK KE TAK? yang penting, kite berusehe. Sambil2 betulkan diri jugak. Sebab kalo x sampai bile?? Cube bayangkan kat sekolah, katekanla ade prefect bitau jgn pijak rumput (ade ke?), pastuh kite tgk die kat kantin potong barisan, biasenye laa most probably (or mebbe aku jek) cakap...ala...die pon potong barisan nak suh kite xlanggar peraturan plak. Pijak rumput jek... So same laa cam kite rase ade org buat salah, and we know it's a HUGE mistake(bukan setakat pijak rumput laa). mebbe kite akan rase org akan cakap " ala...cam aku nih baik jek nak tegur2 orang. aku pon pakaian x betul lagi, quran pon x hafal lagi, stadi pon x dapat distinction...tunggu laa aku elok dulu, baru buleh tegur".

Waa....lege. seronok jugak marah diri sendiri. tension tapi at least, harap sedar kejap. lepas nih marah lagi. hehe.

Wallahualam.

NEW WEBSITE: BUKAN ISLAM LIBERAL

Got this from a good friend of mine; Asma' punye blog.

A DAY OUT

Went to rumah Kak Azah n Kak Dila, guided by Kak Ina. After that ended up going to Metrocentre and Asda. Got me a bottle of Galaxy hot chocolate - wanna give it a try, but tasted it already, it can't beat cadbury's. And shopped a lot for home at Asda; well, that was actually the 2nd time going there after 4 months being in Newcastle. And it was snowing when we got back home.

4 months in Newcastle??Wow! I thought it has been years living here. Talk to Asma' and Nadia on the phone earlier in the noon. Had to admit really miss u guys a lot. Miss p48. Miss tengok muvie kat common room same2...To Asma': Movie ape yang ko tengok sampai abes arr?? Hehe..Asma' memang...sure lentok dulu before movie abes. Kalo tengok citer antu, takleh duk sebelah Nadia...hahah...gotta be infected with her screaming. Duk sebelah aku??Haha, nih kalo citer kejar2 abes lebam kene pukul ngan aku. Kui3. Hani gak bese jek. But the best thing we did together was to kaco (or in other word, bully ;P) Hani. Topazians must have known that. Kalo lepas taklim, the 3 of us will glance to each other - the sign to run as fast as u can to the chalet and lock Hani outside!! Hahah... jahat gile. Baru lepas taklim tuh. Huhuhu... Kesian Hani. Alalalala...nome-nome (ayat Asma' kat her bro, Kamil). But that was wut make us even closer. Sure gelak gile2 lepas tuh. Kaki pembuli jugak yer aku nih. Astaghfirullahalazim... bile nak jadi baik nih iffa??Asma'??Nadia?? hahaha...takpela Hani. Merapatkan silaturrhaim tuh namenye. Hehe. Now wishing that I could go to Ireland and meet them. Both four of us together. Bringing back the good moments we've had. I will definitely go to Eire some day, later. Not this year probably - coz Aisyah, Asma' n Hajar had already bought me a ticket to Paris (belikan je laa, still kene bayar balik..hhuhu)- no need to worry. 4 and the half years to go. I've got plenty of time. Definitely will be going there.

Paris? Huhu, duit takde dah. Lepas dah bayar ticket balik Malaysia, I am so broke. Oh no... this reminds me of the JPA letter. Have to post the exam result then only you can get ur february allowance...But the good news is that I heard JPA monthly allowance wil be increased? Not confirmed yet, but that's wut I heard. It better be a real pleasant news.

Gonna start a new term this monday. New term, so hoping for a new change ie. to be more hardworking and consistent with my studies - no more last minute study or assignments. Oh no, talking about assignment, my third assignment would likely be a critical appraisal, mind u, a CRITICAL APPRAISAL again!! (Well, that's from wut I read when I was browsing LSE just now) Not again.... got S S for 2nd assignment which was a relief. But so many people got M M. Wut else can make me feel so inferior? But syukur sangat2,thought I might end up with a B coz by the time I submitted the assignment, I knew nothing about wut I typed in the appraisal and report. Thanks to Spencer, at least he didn't fail me, though he replied to every single thing that I argued (coz I was supposed to critically appraised the journal written by him...and he happened to be my examiner!!)

Alright, better stop here. Gonna get me a drink. Haus gile. Oh ye Asma', aku dah minum susu and makan sayur kat sini. In fact I love to. Can eat vege on its own now. Quite an interesting, drastic change, isn't it? Hehe. Ok dah. Stop.

SELAMAT HARI RAYA AIDILADHA

Assalamualaikum,

Just nak wish selamat hari raya aidiladha kat semue. And gonna cut and paste riddles ari tuh. Sebagai renungan kita bersama, insyaAllah...

3. Apa yang paling besar di dunia ?
4. Apa yang paling berat di dunia ?
5. Apa yang paling ringan di dunia ?
6. Apa yang paling tajam di dunia ?

Suatu hari, Imam Al Ghozali berkumpul denganmurid-muridnya. Lalu Imam Al Ghozali bertanya....

Murid -muridnya menjawab "negara Cina, bulan, mataharidan bintang - bintang".

NO MORE STAGE 1 PROGRESS 2!!

Waaa...lamenye tak tulis blog. Well, now that I've finished my progress 2 examination, bulehlaa meluangkan mase jap tulis blog. Before I go on melalut ntah pape, n before terlupe, let me put the choc cake recipe here. Resipi ni actually dapat from Nini which she got it from Kak Jua...Kak Jua dapat from sape aa??huhu...nanti kene tanye nih. Kirenye nih resipi turun temurun kat Newcastle la kot... hehe. Rajin2 buatla..

CHOCOLATE CAKE

250 g marjerin/butter
10 oz gula
3 biji telur
8 oz self raising flour
2 oz koko powder
1 gelas susu
1 tbs esen vanilla
1/2 teaspoon soda bikarbonat + baking powder

Beat butter + gula sampai kembang (is this the rite word?), tambah telur one by one. Masuk tepung selang seli ngan susu beransur2. Then + koko powder + other cake essentials. Oven 180c about 1 hr.

Bile dah sejuk letak laa cooking choc...kalo nak choc gile laa. That's all. Dah try hulur2 laa sket...hehe =P

Hmm...exam camne?? Isk isk isk. Taktau laa nak respond camne. For me it was sooooo difficult. Especially the EMI one. I wonder why in the study skills booklet (or is it in a different title??) never mind...but why is it in that book, they said ' if u're not sure about how deep u have to know about certain topics, check in the study guides. Which I assumed the questions will never be beyond what were stated in the study guides... but, some of the q in EMI paper yesterday suggested to me that my thought was all wrong. I really need to know more. Which means more reading to do. So need to be more hardworking, iffa!!! Huhuh...nak marah kat diri sendiri pon bende dah lepas...tapi tu laa..even the very simple questions about blood pressure and haemorrhage- which I've done the revision, but still I couldn't answer them when they comes out with so many confusing answers. Damn it. OSCPE and DiT were hard too. Now that I've sit for the OSCPE, I've learned how short 2 minutes were. And I couldn't imagine how gelabah I was when I was doing the CPR. And now I know how much I hate embryology. Waaaa...tak suke2. Pengajarannye: Belajarlaa bersungguh dari sekarang untuk progress 3 nanti coz that's wut will dtermine whether I am able to continue my 2nd year or not. Provisional timetable dah kuar, so I guess it won't be that far away from now though 4months would be like a long time to go. It's not. With all the family study projects, assignments, easter holidays, lectures, my daily life... I mean, so suddenly I'll be in the nervous exam mode again. Hate that! Anyway, just wanna express my thanks here to Ija, Nini, Iris, Ngocop, Tuan, Syedfa, Pok Nik and who ever involved in my revision for the exam. Thanks!!

But after the exam, will be going back to Malaysia. Well, that's the best part of it. Have booked the ticket on the 15th of June. Wish I could go back earlier and celebrate me birthday there. Thanking my mom to have been giving birth to me. It's pretty good to learn all these stuff about pregnant mum and childbearing. It makes me know how hard is it for a woman to give birth to a child. Watched a video of 2 women giving birth long time ago in my lecture. One was the water birth and another was active birth. Watching them giving birth makes me feel the pain inside it. It will definitely be much more painful to give birth itself. Berat mata memandang, berat lagi bahu memikul, ye dak? Since that day, every time I meet or see a pregnant mum or any mum with a child or a baby, I would feel so proud of them. Thinking how brave they are (or were). I couldn't imagine to be as brave as them some day. But it's a natural desire inside women to have their own child, isn't it? But still can't imagine how hard is it. Desire vs pain. Hmm... even in Islam, 2nd most painful thing for a humanbeing is giving birth (death comes as the first one, of course). No wonder a mum would to anything for her children. Most of the time.

Hmm...going out in a short time, so better end my entry here. Wassalam.

NEWCASTLE DAH SNOW!!

Hehe...akhirnye dapat jugak tengok snow. Live. Before nih tengok dalam tv jek. Tapi malasnye nak kuar. Tunggu jalan dah putih dulu laa baru kuar amik gamba. Heh. Jakun gile. Biar ape orang nak kate...first time maa. Jakun tak jakun. Haha...ape aku merepek nih.

Sebenarnye tension duh...dengan exam lagi. Lagi seminggu and I have another 4 cases to revise( 5 including what I was doing just now). Sempat ke??

Yesterday, I went to anatomy lab to do the revision. Then, all my handouts that I brought there dah bau cadaver. huhuuh... pastuh balik tuh, ngadap kom kejap and dah taip entry for 5 Jan. All of the sudden internet tibe2 dc. ilang semue yang aku taip. Huhu, ari tuh tulis resipi chocolate and cheese cakes... malasnye nak taip balik. letak gamba je laa...(gamba from camera Iris)Actually buat chocolate cake nih to bring it to malsoc new year dinner.

Cheese cake tuh plak saje je try buat. Got the latter recipe from Makcik Putri kat Manchester. Maybe I can just copy and paste the recipe from my emel. Here u go:

Blueberry Cheesecake

7 oz digestive biscuits (dihancurkan)
3 oz butter (dicairkan)
Gaulkan bhn2 di atas utk base cheesecake, masukkan dlm springfoam 9 inch. Masukkan dlm fridge = 20 min

200g x 3 Philadelphia cream cheese
1 cup castor sugar
3 biji telur
2 tsp esen vanilla
1/4 tsp almond essence
1 tub kecil sour cream

Beat cream cheese + gula + telur + esen vanilla + esen almond + sour cream. Tuang dlm acuan tadi. Masak dlm oven 180 C selama 1 jam. Biar dlm oven sampai sejuk tapi biar pintu oven terbuka. Bila dah sejuk, tuang blueberry filling* ke atas cheese.

We used other brand of cream cheese, and yogurt instead of sour cream. Tak letak almond essence. And tak buat filling pon. All due to the not being able to find the ingredients at netto. hehe, malas dah nak gi kedai lain cari. But it turned out fine though. So if u have free time....try laa. Gune the original recipe from Makcik Putri sure lagi sedap.

ok iffa...pegi sambung stadi skang!!!

:LONDON:SOUTHAMPTON:

After 10 days being out of town, far far away from Newcastle.... Now I'm back in my hometown!! A lot to tell, but don't think I wanna get too attached to this computer and bloggie things since I've got loads of facts and medical thingy to read and memorise for the coming examinations. So just giving up a little of my time for a simple, straightforward ones.

22 - 23.12.2005
Headed to London. Stayed with Kak Sha(kakak Ija) at Whitechapel. This was my first time visiting London. Planned to buy a mobile there coz I heard there are various greater deals there (actually, it's not!!) but didn't bring the necessary things needed e.g. bank statement. Hehe, nampak gayenye still orang ulu laa aku nih arfa!! Makan ayam percik kat Malaysian Hall, and then went to ASDA and bought soooo many chocolates. yum yum.

24 - 28.12.2005
Went to Southampton. Awal2nye plan tido kat bilik Arfa, but I turned up staying in Yatie's room at Romero(btul ke name nih??) since bilik Yatie is within the walking distance to the city centre. No public transport on the christmas day, so stayed at Yatie's for the whole day, re-watching the movies, as I've mentioned in the earlier post. On the 26th, some shops had started their boxing sale. Spent some money for that very first day of boxing day...

kat titanic nye tugu at soton

and spent a lot at Portsmouth Designer Outlet store on the next day. Very rambang mata pegi sane tengok sale sane sini. Huhuh...dasatnye, padahal on the same day, so many people in Asia (including in some regions in Malaysia) were suffering from the disaster called the tsunami. Guess everybody have known that. Can visit Tun's and Kak Azila's web and read what they wrote about the disaster sebagai teladan untuk kita semue.

at Portsmouth

Went back to Whitechapel on the 28th. There was this auntie(or grandma perhaps) had this accident in the toilet. She hit sumthing, I guess. Not very sure either, but heard that she was bleeding. And the bus driver was very generous. He called an ambulance (I only wake up from my tiring sleep at this moment) even though the lady kept telling him that she was fine and she wasn't bleeding anymore. I don't mind if I reached London a bit later than expected. Those who were catching flights at Heathrow Airport must have been a little bit worried, I supposed. (the bus was heading to heathrow first before going to London Victoria Station). Driver tuh pon cepat2 tanye kalo2 ade orang yang flight die dekat sangat dah, bimbang kot2 terlepas. And he kept convincing those people that they were not going to miss their flights. Bagus betul bus driver tuh, holding tight to the policy and making sure everything was fine with everybody especially with that old lady. And the ambulance was very fast too. (I think it was in the middle of highway). A good cooperation here. Harap2 if the same case happened in Malaysia, the same action would have been taken.

29 - 30.12.2005
In London again. Went shopping (again) at oxford street (more to window shopping this time), and then visited Madame Tussaud together with Ija's friends, previously from KMB - Uya, Mar, Sharot (betul ke eja nih??). Jumpe laa patung2 yang mirip artis2 hollywood and tokoh 2 terkenal, and bollywood -aishwarya je. Hmm... incredible hulk ngan superman pon ade. Memang Tom Cruise besar tuh je ke?? I thought he's taller and bigger than that!! Met Layen, Yatie, and Arfa there, coz all of us bought the after 3pm tickets - it's cheaper!! Thanks to Layen for informing us the cheap online ticket which was 8 pound less than the usual price.

The next day, went to Westminster, Trafalgar Square and Buckingham Palace. Got the chance to witness the guards marching from the national guard museum to the palace. Sooooo many people i.e. tourists (including me n ija of coz). Lepas tuh, berlagak jadi orang kaya jap...hehe...pegi Harrods. This time it was totally intended for a window shopping only. shopping....?? gile maaa. There was this coat costs £5500. Even u say it in RM, I won't be able to afford it. Kalo 7.3 times 5500 equals approximately RM 40000. Baik beli kelisa daripada beli satu kot tuh. huhuuh.... only spent £1.60 at Harrods to buy doughnuts at Crispy Creme. At least boleh dapat free satu mase tengah beratur. Penjimatan yang amat...hehe. Pastuh siap boleh pegi melawat toilet. hehe. luxury lady washroom laa katekan. Memang luxury pon. Siap letak 3 jenis branded perfume and lotion lagi. Free. Tapi gune kat situ je la kan. Taktau laa kalo ade yang amik bawak balik kat umah. Once we got out from Harrods, Uya notice die nye purse takde, so we went back to Harrods and tried to look for it. Tak jumpe!! Uya and I went to the lost properties department, pon xjumpe. then all 5 of us headed to police station to report the lost wallet. The lady in the lost properties room told us that Uya might have been pick-pocketed during the only 5 minutes outside the Harrods. So, korang2 yang nak jalan2 kat Harrods, be careful with ur wallets!! Harap2 Uya dapat laa balik purse tuh. Although there was only £5, but she lost her room key as well!!

31.12.2005
Finally, I departed to Newcastle at 4.45 p.m. and reached here approximately 11.00p.m. Earlier than the expected time which was so good coz I was already tired sitting and trying to sleep in the bus.

The trip was very nice and pleasant but it feels good to come back home after a long journey. Thanks to Kak Sha, Yatie, Arfa, Azrin, Layen, Nurul, and last but not least Ija of course for making it a valueable trip. Thanks to Kak Wan and Kak Nadia yang amik dan masak untuk kitorg mase mule2 sampai Soton.

Phew...panjang plak tulis. Ingatkan nak buat pendek je. Anyway, happy new year to everyone. And pray for my success in this coming exam from 14-18 jan. Better get going with the anatomy and physiology books now!!

MOVIE MARATHON IN SOUTHAMPTON

Skang kat bilik Yatie kat Soton :) Sampai last night. Ade akak sr kat sini jemput, pastuh pegi makan kat umah postgrad, then jumpe laa budak2 baru balik from eire kat sane.

Ari ni kedai tutup, public transport xde, so tak pegi mane2. Habiskan mase tengok movies ("re-watched" actually, coz I've wathced them before), makan, plus tengok happy tree friends which was one of me and my chaletmates routine in KMYS (I believe most of KMYSians as well ;P)

Esok nak gi jalan2 soton nye city centre, then the next day gonna spend my first boxing day at portsmouth. And malam nih probably finish another movie, again ;D

GIVE THIS A THOUGHT

Hmm...get this website from Tuan's YM status message. Give it 5 minutes. http://nadeem.lightuponlight.com/ISLAMIC%20SERVER%2001/flash%20nasheeds--Islam.swf Give it a thought. Like the animation says: EVER WONDER?

And these are riddles asked by Imam al-Ghazali which I got from afriend in my friendster bulletin board. Why don't give them ur guess;

Murid 1=' Orang tua ' Murid 2=' Guru ' Murid 3=' Teman ' Murid 4=' Kaum kerabat

Murid 1= ' Negeri Cina ' Murid 2= ' Bulan Murid 3= 'Matahari ' Murid 4= ' Bintang-bintang '

Murid 1= ' Gunung ' Murid 2= ' Matahari ' Murid 3= ' Bumi '

Murid 1= ' Baja' Murid 2= ' Besi ' Murid 3= ' Gajah '

Murid 1= ' Kapas' Murid 2= ' Angin ' Murid 3= ' Debu ' Murid 4= ' Daun-daun'

I'll leave u there. Will paste the answers from Imam al-Ghazali later. See if u can solve them out!!

YORK AND DURHAM

Went to Durham 3 days ago, with a day trip to York on Saturday.

What a nice town!! York was so cool!! I was so impressed. It was probably the maitenance of the old building that make it a classic town.

Reached there before 10 a.m., then headed to York Minster, which I did not enter, (honestly coz it was charged) since I was saving my money for the what I heard as a scary and horror place to go to. And that was the York Dungeon. I had always wished to enter this kind of haunted house, and there I was... it wasn't really haunted though. There were neither ghosts flying around nor creepy sounds. It was more a historical story of the place, hence being a good place to those who are interested n history, which apparently, isn't my type at all!!

There were 5 shows in there. No need to tell everything here, better if u go and find them out by urselves. Except for 2 things that I'd like to mention here; first I was so shocked when the scary looking guy who acted as a doctor, threw the heart of a dead man (which I believed was a fake one) towards me and Kak Sarah. It was the surprise having somebody to throw things unexpectedly towards us that made us so shocked, well, at least I was so shocked until I produced no sound at all. Can't imagine if somebody took my pic that time. Heh;D

2nd is about the torture room, where they tell u about how people were being tortured in the past. One that looked so real was THE RAT. A rat was put in a cage above the victim, where a burning coal was placed above the cage to stimulate that rat to find a way out. And...the only way out is through the man's gut so it has to quickly bite the victim's abdomen to release itself... what a torture!!

Then went to designer outlet. Did not shopping that much after all...should save my money for the boxing day...hehe...hope things are on a real bargain price, as what I have always heard from the first week I came here :)

Had a fabulous time with Kak Jua, Kak Sarah and Kak Farah in Durham and York. Thanks akak2 semue!! Korang memang bes!!

Now, back to Newcastle again. I love being here anyway, thanks to the Almighty god to have been giving the opportunity to study here. I don't know what I like so much about Newcastle, but I know I love being here (semangat newcastle la plak, hehe). By the way, now looking forward to having a nice trip to London and Southampton.
